poems

Welcome to you~by Debbie Vozella
When you wake up and realize that everything you have ever known has
changed
know that you are exactly where you are supposed to be
life doesnʼt just happen
something you have dreamed has put you on this threshold to your
future
to your life
to the meaning of who you are
the passions you have ignited
the dreams you realize
the absolutes that now are
to ponder this place is a waste
rejoice in the what is
know that Godʼs plan is at work in you

I took a self-defense class at a friend's studio last night, and was so proud of the fact that I finally did something for me.  No hangups, no worries that I was dong something that took me away from the "normal." It was a great class, and I am feeling the pain today, especially in my abs.  It was great and empowering.  Really lifted my spirits.
It is funny how sometimes when you are surrounded by people you still feel so lonely.  I want to be ok being alone.  I don't like the feeling of something or someone missing from my life.  It is a misrepresentation of where I am in this life.  I have a ton of responsibilities and I love my family dearly, yet I still feel broken and not quite whole.  A man should never be a source of completeness.  I think that love is a beautiful thing and a very difficult wound to heal when it goes away.   Love leaves a void in the heart when it goes away and the beloved person leaves footprints that remain far after the rain washes them away.

Getting started

In anticipation of many more writing blogs in my future, I am going to make this first one short and sweet.  I have always used writing as an outlet. As a teenager I wrote and journaled, mostly poems, but regardless I wrote daily.  I have continued to write poems as an adult and enjoy the freeing of feelings that writing gives me.
It clears my head and allows me to process the necessary, daily life events.
So, what brings me to a blog spot? I am not sure, allowing others to read my thoughts was always a fear of mine, but here I am! Let's see how it goes.
